  • American National University – Parkersburg, WV
    Medical Assisting Program

At ANU, you can enroll in a Medical Assisting degree program, or opt for the diploma track provided you’re willing to participate in the Medical Office Assisting program. A diploma will only take an estimated seven months to acquire, while the degree will take an estimated 19 months to earn.

Students can enroll in a 19-month Associate’s degree program in medical assisting. Tuition and fees are $30,972, while textbooks and supplies like uniforms and such are an additional $5,400.

This 11-month (44 weeks to be specific) long program is one in which students can graduate having known they’ve earned a certificate and the knowledge to successfully enter an entry-level job in medical assisting.

Tuition is $2,790, and when you add up the cost of registration fees, lab fees, textbooks, insurance and more, students should expect to pay approximately $4,705 for school.

  • Huntington Junior College – Huntington, WV

Huntington Junior College offers Associate degrees in seven different programs, including that of medical assisting. The program itself is designed to take 27 months to get through. The cost of the program is $14,970. This includes the cost of tuition, and any fees. The school does not appear to charge anything extra for textbooks, uniforms, or other supplies.

63 credit hours are required to earn an Associate’s degree at Mountwest Community and Technical College.

At the conclusion of the MA program, you will need to partake in an externship, where you will be able to put your education into actual practice in a real world setting.

West Virginia Northern Community College offers what is called a “Clinical Medical Assistant 1 + 1 program. Should you be interested in it, you must complete the following program: the Administrative Medical Assistant Certificate program.

The schools also offers an Associate’s degree program, as well. Like most Associate degrees, it will take you about two years to successfully graduate the program.
